The biggest celebrity story of this year is undoubtedly sports star turned Vogue cover girl Caitlyn Jenner who transitioned gender at the ripe age of 65, to an overwhelmingly positive reception.  But life can be more difficult for the growing number of British over-60s who transition gender each year.  Languishing on NHS waiting lists, battling against the litany of health complaints that old age brings and confronting social attitudes from a previous generation, many are nonetheless determined to live out their days in the gender they want.
